Here we are in July.
I’m going to forgo my normal format for the blog posts as I’m
not really in the mood to do one but I have to do it before the month ends if I
am to keep a semblance of my organization and sanity.
The month of July has been, more or less, a decent month.
Earnings are up due to the release of Arcane Knight Book 4. The reception of
the newest additional to the Arcane Knight series has been fair, I think we
were sitting at about 150 reviews so far—which isn’t bad for a single month and
a book 4.
Nexus Book 1 Audio has come out, so far reviews are negative
so that’s fun. I’m hoping with time it’ll even out, but the loudest voices aren’t
always the most pleasant ones. I finished book 2 of the Nexus series, but it
didn’t turn out how I expected. For one it was much shorter, which is a bummer
as I’ve released nothing but 150k+ word novels this year. But it goes where it
goes and I wasn’t going to force it to be longer by injecting random nonsense
scenes that had no real impact on the story.
I’ve been struggling for what feels like months now to be as
productive as I had been in the past, this is the root of my underwhelming feelings
in the month of July. It will be the first month this year that I didn’t write
at least 100k words in a month. That mixed with personal reasons have turned
this month into a very discouraging ordeal.
Anywho what is coming up next? Nexus Guardian Book 2 is
hitting the kindle shelves August 2nd. Arcane Knight Book 5 is
coming up next but short of aiming for an early October release, I have no firm
date on that. Then Nexus Guardian Book 3 will hit the shelves some time after
that, followed by my last release of the year or first of the new year, Arcane
Knight Book 6 (The final installment in the Arcane Knight Order and Chaos series)
Thanks for reading my monthly blog and don’t forget to leave
a review of any books of mine that you read.
