Welcome back!
It’s time for my monthly update. Since my last blog post, I’ve released nothing new.
This goes back to what I mentioned in my previous blog post where my productivity suffered due to a lack luster release with Nexus Guardian. However I have, after several weeks of lows, managed to get over it and move on.
I’m still writing Arcane Knight Book 4, (6 Days overdue from my planned release).

I am certain that I will be finished with it this week though. Today was a great day of writing, most Mondays are that way for me, and I’m at roughly 140k words for the story with the first half (50k words worth) already edited and getting ready to be sent out to proofers.
The second half (roughly 60k) has gone to the editors with the last half, about 50k, due to go to edits at end of the week. That gives me, the editors, and the proofs roughly 18 days to get things wrapped up. This is completely doable, and I’ve worked with smaller time frames before, so yay for that.
Arcane Knight continues to do well.
I didn’t do numbers last month, so I will do them here for those that are interested in that sort of thing.

As you can see there is a drop off from each book, but overall, it seems like people enjoy the series and read through all that is available. Can’t wait to get book 4 out and see how people like it.

Lets take a look at how Nexus Book 1 did…

So, I will say that the book 1 did alright in the grand scheme of it all, but it didn’t earn like I wanted, not even close, so that is a bummer. And, unlike my previous books, it didn’t hold its rank well at all and has been my biggest cause for concern. In previous books the first 3 months the rank barely moves, whether it stays at 3,000 or 300, it holds steady, but not for this book. I like to say it ‘has no teeth’ which is a bummer because it’s a great story that I know fans of my previous books would enjoy.
The next release is Arcane Knight Book 4, however as I feared I didn’t hit my release date and adjusted it to a July 2nd, 2023 release date.
Schedule wise I’ll be continuing my planned schedule, writing Book 2 of Nexus Guardian then Book 5 of Arcane Knight, followed by Nexus Guardian Book 3 (Final Entry for the series) then lastly for the year, Arcane Knight Book 6 (Likely the last book in the series).

Life as a full time author isn’t easy, but it is very rewarding being able to write full time and I hope to continue to do so. I’ve had to make some hard decisions recently to make sure my family continued to have their basic needs met, but I stand behind my choices and hope it all works out.
